The 2024-2025 season will be the start of the 23rd year of play for the Florida Atlantic University Ice Hockey Club. This season the Club is comprised of FAU student-athletes from 12 different US states, Canada, and Sweeden. The team participates with a Division II and new Division III team, in AAU College Hockey and has been a member of the College Hockey South (CHS) Conference since the 2021-2022 season. Previously, the Owls competed in the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) before moving to the College Hockey Federation for the 2021-2022 season. After two years of play, the College Hockey Federation changed it’s affiliation to AAU College Hockey. The Owls qualified for the ACHA National Tournament in 2005 & 2011 and qualified for the Regional Tournament in the 2017-2018 and 2019-2020 seasons. Since moving to AAU College Hockey, the team has qualified for the AAU National Tournament in the 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024 seasons.
Open tryouts are held at the beginning of the fall semester in preparation for the 25+ multi-conference season games, the CHS Conference Tournament, and the AAU College Hockey National Tournament.
FAU Owls Hockey is classified as a “club” team. The university, student athletes, and generous supporters cover all expenses related to team operations, uniforms, equipment, rink time, travel, referees, etc. The team is further supported by a Board of Advisors made up of local business and hockey professionals that volunteer their time and efforts.
We invite you to come out and cheer on these athletes as they participate in the game they love and represent FAU and the Boca Raton community in the national spotlight. We are “Hockey in Paradise!”
