The 2025-2026 season will be the start of the 24th year of play for the Florida Atlantic University Ice Hockey Club. This season the Club is comprised of FAU student-athletes from 12 different US states, Canada, and Sweeden. The team participates with a Division II and Division III team, in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (www.achahockey.org) and has been a member of the College Hockey South (www.collegehockeysouth.com) Conference since the 2021-2022 season.
In the past, the Owls competed in the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) from 2001-2020 before moving to the College Hockey Federation for the 2021-2022 season. After two years of play, the College Hockey Federation changed it’s affiliation to AAU College Hockey. The Owls qualified for the ACHA National Tournament in 2005 & 2011 and qualified for the Regional Tournament in the 2017-2018 and 2019-2020 seasons. After moving to AAU College Hockey, the team qualified for the AAU National Tournament in the 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024 seasons and won the D2 AAU National Championship in the 2024-2025 season.
Open tryouts are held at the beginning of the fall semester in preparation for the 25+ multi-conference season games, the CHS Conference Tournament, and the NACHL and ACHA National Tournaments.
FAU Owls Hockey is classified as a “club” team. The university, student athletes, and generous supporters cover all expenses related to team operations, uniforms, equipment, rink time, travel, referees, etc. The team is further supported by a Board of Advisors made up of local business and hockey professionals that volunteer their time and efforts.
We invite you to come out and cheer on these athletes as they participate in the game they love and represent FAU and the Boca Raton community in the national spotlight. We are “Hockey in Paradise!”
